Getting an EDUCATION will make you a more well-rounded, satisfied, employable and...yes, probably a more useful person. Do not confuse getting a degree with getting an education. Just doing the minimum work in order to graduate or buying an on-line degree are not in any way equal to educating yourself and preparing yourself for life.

No.

If you've ever watched Thomas the Tank Engine (seriously) then you know that usefulness comes from things like honesty, coperation, balance between work and play, helping others in ap inch, having faith, and working as a team with a positive attitude.

No if you had asked me "What is college good for?" I might have given you quite a different answer because it is good for many things! But you did not. You asked will it make you essentially more useful. The answer is no.

Are you thinking about what path to take next in life?

Do you feel presured to go to college?

Why not take two years off?

The first year work hard and save, the second year travel the world and learn some humility (not that you need it!!) I'm just saying that solo global travel is AWESOME because it opens the mind.

You can always improve your skills/salary levels and all that junk later (really). What is in your HEART is more important!

Cheers.

Nope! Not necessarily.

It might open some doors for you, but you'd better have skills, common sense, and wisdom.

My degree helped open the door for me to teach, without it, I couldn't. So in that sense I was more helpful.

For some people, it's a waste of time. Some won't use it and actually discourages others.
