i am not able to depict the picture . i ll give u the details.
the circuit has two series resistances namely 18 ohm and 12 ohm. it has two parallel resistance 6 ohm and 6 ohm. the voltage supply is 30 volts. the question is " find the voltage drop across 6 ohm. a resistance of 18 ohm is connected to the positive side of the battery of 10 volts and to the other end of the resistance 6 ohm is connected in parallel.
the answer is given as 24 i dont know the steps to arrive the answer. please help

well i'm not quite sure how that answer was came to. if the the two parallel 6ohm resisters were in parallel with the 18ohm resister which is in series with a 12 ohm resistor V across one of the 6ohms would be about 5.2V. if they (the two 6ohm parallel R's) were across the 12 ohm than its would be about 3V. if the three sets were all in series, meaning 18ohms + 12ohms + 3ohms (which is what two 6 ohm resistors in parallel is equal to) you'd have 2.7V across the 3 ohm resistor ( voltage in a parallel circuit is constant). finally if you the two six ohm resistors in parallel across the series set of 18ohms + 12ohms then you'd have the full 30V across any one of the two 6 ohm Resistors. of course that is all assuming that you meant a 30 volt source rather than "battery of 10 volts". so the way i see it, you'd be better off finding another answer sheet.

question is not making sense you have a 30 volt source then a 10 volt in circuit? 18 resistive load is connected on one end by parallel 6 ohms? If it is a parallel resister it would be connected across both ends of the 18 ohm resister.

First, I would create an equivelent circuit by evaluating the resistance/current of the parallel branches and redraw my circuit with the eqivellent resistor in place of the parallel branch.
Also remember, since you are using only resistors, in a series circuit the voltage drops will add up to the source voltage +/- Tollerence% Using subtraction you can determine what it " should be."
