ok, i'm getting the bands on thursday morning (its what my doc said to get) and i m worried.

See my husband said something that stuck with me. i asked if he was sure and he said he was so sure he didnt want anymore but he could say 5-10 yrs down the road. and thats the way i kind of feel too. i have 2 kids one is 12 and one is 19 months. so you can see there is a huge age gap. its because i was so sure then i didnt want anymore either. but the docs wouldnt do it. I guess i'm asking?? did you have any regrets later? i guess thats what i'm scared of..

and also did it hurt? i have never had surgery.. and i'm very nervous about that too. oh and i'm 29 and the 19 month old is my husbands only child and the 12 yr old is from my first marriage.

I had my tubes tied 5 year ago after my son was born, i have never had any regrets. I have 3 beautiful children ages 11,9,5. The pain is nothing to sweat, you have had children so therefor you know what pain truly is I personally would say if you have thoughts that maybe one day you would want another child, i would not tie your tubes. But the more children you do have the hard money wise it will be to raise them and make sure they have all there needs including collage and what not

no it dosent hurt , matter of fact you wont feel a thing. I think it is better to go ahead and get your tubes tied or clipped because in the long run it helps with menopause and the possibilty of having a child that has developmental delays and also you just dont feel so anxious all the time. it sure helped me but medically it was necessary for me and the doctor gladly tied my tubes probably due to the fact that i was really at the age of haveing a risky pregancy and since i had a cesearean at the time and i went ahead during the delivery so it wasnt all that painful and i had an epidural also

The surgery itself it not bad. I was sore like I had the flu after mine. As for regrets I have none yet. There are so many children that need homes in this country that you should consider adoption if you get the mommy urge again in five or six years. I am not sure but I think the bands are reversible. I had mine cut and burned as I almost died giving birth to my son. Does your doc incourage you to do this for health reasons? That should be your number one concern.

Only speaking for myself, yes, I had regrets, but if you are getting bands done you may be able to have it reversed. It is not painful during the surgery because you are asleep but you are sore afterwards. It is so much easier for a man to get it done. He is in and out the same day and pain is minimal for him. Let him get it done. They can do it to him and he can have it reversed as well, but again it is easier for him. Seeming how you are the one to go through child birth and the pain of that. Let him know it is no picnic in the park and that you gave him two children it is his turn to step up to the plate. Good luck

No regrets for me, when I had my tubes tied I knew I did not want to be a baby factory, I have two wonderful children and that is all the blessings I need. But if you have doubts, don't do it! No it did not hurt, the worse thing is the iv, I went out the next night with friends for dinner, no problems.

If you have any second thoughts about it, then I wouldn't do it. I had mine done about 8yrs ago(bands) I didn't have any regrets and I only have one child.
