Okay my car is a chevy impala 2000 with 50,000 miles I just got it a few months ago so I don't know any history other than that. I had the oil changed, new tires, breakes etc. I was on my way to work in stop and go traffic when my battery light came on and within seconds my car was dead. I could not even turn the wheel and there was no power at all. I put the car in park, took the key out, and tried to start my car again and it started. 5 minutes later the battery light came on and this happened again. I did the same thing and it started again and i went to work. On my way home I stopped at goodyear and asked for them to check my battery and told them what happened. They left for 10 minutes came back and said that will be 40 bucks for an electrical systems check and we wish we could sell you something but nothing is wrong with the battery. I go home and the next day i have to break really hard on the way to work. When i take my foot off the break it starts to go on its own.

My car accellerates to about 30 mph and stays there. If there is a hill yes it slows down but does not stop. I didn't have my foot on the gas the entire way home. Also when i went down a hill I REALLY FLEW like i was gassing it down the hill but I wasn't. My dad then drove the car when i got home and it did not do this and i drove it to the grocery store and it did not but today it did again. I don't want to take it somewhere and they charge me and say nothing is wrong again because it is not doing it everyday but I have a baby and want to get it fixed to be safe. In stop and go traffic if i take my food off the brake i will hit the car in front of me. Not good please help any mechanics around reading these?

I strongly recommend taking this vehicle to a professional repair facility. Select one that is AAA certified and or ASE Blue Seal Rated. You can locate these shops on the internet at AAA.com and ASE.com. These will be facilities that can evaluate your concern and locate the problems, then repair them. With the descriptions you are giving, it is impossible to name the problem over the internet without testing on the vehicle, and any thing that is suggested is simply a guess. Also, visit carcare.org, a consumer group that is not affiliated with any repair facility or manufacturer, for advice on choosing repair facilities, asking questions and educating yourself on maintenance, repairs and why they are recommended. It will also give service intervals for these items.

You are looking in the wrong area. Your problem has nothing to do with your battery or your charging system, what is happening is that your car is trying to tell you that you have a vaccum leak. When this happens, it makes it very difficult for it to maintain a proper idle speed when not under acceleration, as the fuel/air ratio is not correct for what its expecting and needing. It could be any number of hoses, including the large ones coming from your air filter, and could be difficult to spot. It may be just a hole, or a line that somehow got disconnected.
The increase in engine speed is caused by the computer trying compensate for the incorrect air flow, an attempt to keep running. As far as the really hard braking, this is a result of the increased engine speed producing more vaccumm, which affects power brakes, and does not indicated a problem in the brakes themself. They will return to normal once the leak is fixed.

feels like a defective sensor you will possibly choose to code test and consider for open circuits. If it replaced into the gas pump the automobile might have subjects on an analogous time because it replaced into working so i doubt that it is the project the two

Your gas pedal is sticking, it sounds like. Make sure nothing fell down below and got wedged under your gas pedal.
