All the sites do package deals. I've already got my flight booked. I just want to book the machu pichu tour as if I was already in Cuzco.

How can i do this?

You can certainly find a land tour only package, just like I did. Unfortunately I can't find the company I went with! But here's one: http://www.inkanatura.com/machupicchuandincatrailcusco.asp

Make sure you find a local company rather than some American or European agency, as they'll simply charge you extra.

I had to Western Union a deposit over first, along with my passport details (required for the trek), and then paid the remainder in cash upon arrival in Cusco. Note that the reputable companies will insist you arrive in Cusco at least 48 hours before the trek to acclimatise yourself to the altitude.

Do you mean that you want to take the train to Machu Pichu? If so, check out Lonely Planet's guidebook to Peru or their Thorn Tree area on their website. Post a specific question there to find out how easy it is to arrange a train ticket once you are in Cuzco - the train may get booked in advance by tour groups but if not, just sort it out once you arrive.

Try www.seat61.com too.

If you want to walk the Inca Trail, that's much harder as you need to book with an agency and give them your passport details and they have to register you a place (which may not be posisble if all the slots have gone for that day/period).

I recommend you that once you get to cuzco, you look for a machu pichu tour, it would be a lot cheaper. I found this sites maybe you find something interesting.

Here you can find the rates of the train that takes you from Cuzco to Macchu Pichu (Aguas Calientes, is the town where machu pichu is)

I recommend you do the inca trail, if it is too much for you, you can sleep one night at Aguas Calientes and the next day enjoy Machu Pichu, you can see the first lights of morning from the Sanctuary. Its a dream!!

I did the Inca Trail with SAS travel. They were amazing. You will pay about $70 more for the trip but it was well worth it. Good food, tents etc. They also ensured that the porters (those who carry your tents, bags along the trail) are treated well. They are on the net and have an office in Cuzco. Try to ensure you have a few days in Cuzco before your trek, as it's really high up and if you catch a bout of altitude sickness before your trek, you'll feel terrible. Enjoy!

I went to Cuzco last summer, great place you'll love it there! It's amazing all the green hills and places you'll never forget!! Actually i am peruvian, but anyways, if you have any contact in south america tell them to do it from there because that is how i didi it, but if you dont then i would tell you to go online and find a site in which to call a number to peru in which to talk to a tour agency about booking a tour without having the flight be charge.
