Athlon 2400 must be about about 5 years old at least. I would like to see a benchmark against the 2 to see the differences.

I looked around for one but due to the age of the 2400 I had no success.

I compared the 6300 to an Athlon 3300+ at : http://www23.tomshardware.com/cpu.html
& found it to be almost twice as fast in most all games & applications.

Athlon 2400 processor V duel-core 6300

firstly look at this list:
http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/index.cfm?a=wiki&tag=rmp_entry

it tells you the proccesor rating speed,

atholon is 89!, look at Core 2 Duo 6300 Allendale, its number7, some of these speeds are close, others have large speed gaps.

also some reviews:

Read this:

This chips are the real deal and significantly out perform anything AMD has as well as showing just how legacy there Pentium D line really is. I just put together a Core 2 Duo machine running a 6300, it costs less then the AMD 64 x2 3800+ and only $15-$20 more then the Pentium D 920 and out performs them both by very wide margins. If your looking to upgrade to a new system I HIGHLY recommend to you look at the Core 2 Duo line and forget anything you have heard about the Pentium D class.

The Pentium D 920 is a mediocre CPU at best and wasted money at worst. When a dual-core chip barely out performs lower clocked single core chips is should go out of production.

I mostly use Graphics, Video and Sound development applications and very little gaming (I hop on Call of Duty once and awhile). If price is your chief factor you can't beat the Core 2 Duo 6300 for price/performance... the Pentium D line is a waste of money.

Good Luck,

Pentium is better!, i have had sevral pentiums their the best, athlon is still number2,

good luck

Let me know how u get on, good luck!
