on a new build door opening when fitting a upvc door you would fix the sides with screws and expanding foam.
then hang the door and check for twist i.e. check the line between the end of the frame and the end of the door if the space at the top is say 5 millimeters the bottom should be 5 milimeters so the gap is evenly spaced and the door is in twist. this means the door will shut against the style perfectly.
under the frame and the thresher plate it needs to have some 4 inch dpc along the width of the door and about 2 inch up the sides .
then seal along the whole of the frame(both sides) and both sides of the thresher plate this will give it a seal from the weather and damp. hope this helps you.

door sill plate usually has a weatherstrip running through it if it is an outside door. You can fasten with fasteners or glue with something like liquid nails.
Also called "bottom rail" . The bottom rail is also known as "kick rail"
