Why did cops in NYC search my bag on the subway for no reason. Meanwhile Mex/Canadian borders are wide open?

I'm just a young girl minding my own business. The new rules of random stop and search...is this necessary?
Does Bush think terrorists are stupid enough to place a bomb in their bag. Most bombs are attached to the body.
Also the subway has thousands of openings that terrorists can get thru with no detection. Does Bush think manning only the busy openings is going to stop a terrorist?

Since 9/11 people are scared that we will get attacked again. I think what happened to you is stupid. But having these extra precautions the Government thinks that the people will think we are safer now. If a terrorist really tried hard enough no amount of security will stop them. Since 9/11 occurred it is harder for terrorist but I think eventually we will be attacked again. Bush has made a lot of enemies in the world nearly every country in the world hate us now. As for the mexican borders they are building a fence to "keep" people out but they will find other ways to get in too. I don't believe no amount of security will stop someone if they really want to get in or attack us. AS far as Canada goes we are stil allies with them but eventually I think stronger measures will be taken place there too. If the government had thier way we would be a police nation with no freedoms. The plane security is totally crazy they are going way too far I think.

There have been Numerous attacks on subway systems around the world, and yes, purses and backpacks are among the methods used to conceal bombs.

There simply Cannot Be enough policemen or soldiers to watch every single vulnerable location 24 hours a day.

What kind of outraged declaration would you be posting if you had entered the subway unchecked and someone near you Did Set off a Bomb? You'd be trashing the President for NOT checking bags.

There's simply no use in even talking to you. You already know everything.

This is a problem created by the system i.e. The bush administration. Think of it like this, why solve the problem, when i can make a new one, that will kill the other problem? The system got everyone scrappin for nothing against each other, while no one scrapes at the system. Think about it... the sytem plate is full, and everyone else is struggling looking for firsts when the system throwing away seconds. My fight is not against you or anybody else, because we are all people, so why can't the people be represented properly by its government. Them searching you is not about just you, its about everyone, because we chose to be searched when we chose our senator, our governor, our president. Anyone could have been searched, so everyone has to put your self through what you were going through. i know that it made everyone feel safe when the cop searched your bag. Everyone doesnt care about the borders or we just havent got to caring about them. So i am sorry you have to go through this, but this is what everyone has choosen. or is it?

Bush has nothing to do with the MTA (New York City Trains and Bus system) You have to thank your police commisioner for that. Its not only about terrorism when they check your bags. There is crime in NYC, they are checking for illegal items such as drugs, weapons, or maybe a dumb terrorist with a bomb in his bag!
Stop thinking this is a bad thing, they are trying to keep us all safe, if they check your bag and you are doing the right thing you have nothing to worry about.

Well, it is your OPINION that they searched your bag for no LEGITIMATE reason. The police have better things to do with their time than the check someone's bag because they are on a power trip. Maybe there was something suspicious about how your were dressed or how you were acting.

Are there better ways to use police resources? Most certainly. However, border enforcement is not up to the NYPD. Try not to let it bother you and cooperate with the police to let them do their job.

Probably for show. Truck drivers going into the State of Canada have to have their birth certificates with them. It costs the trucking companies $5.00 to enter Canada and $5.00 to leave Canada. Now, they are going to require truck drivers to get Passports! When is the
U. S. going to do the same thing when trucks from Mexico and Canada come over here? geez...searching someone's handbag at random.
