You get to keep Wii virtual console games for as long as you like. they are saved to your wii console' internal memory, and can be backed up to a SD card to protect your investment.

You can play classic games from the NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, Nintendo 64, TurboGrafx 16, and coming soon: Neo Geo and MSX.

Once you purchase a game, you can keep it as long as you like. Nintendo states that you don't actually own the game, but I doubt they would ever take it away from us.

If you buy a game it will stay there permanently, and even if you delete it to make more space for other virtual games, you can still reload it from the wii shop channel. (There is a lot of room for the virtual games so i doubt you will have to delete any)
