how did georgia get its name i need to know now i have project due on monday march 5

THE NAME:
The last of the thirteen original British colonies was named after England's King George II in 1733. The terms of the charter granted by the king specified that the colony to be founded by James Oglethorpe be named after the king and so it was.

It was named after KIng George who was King Of England at the time Georgia was a Colony

Oglethorpe founded Georgia with a boatload of debtors from England. He named the state Georgia after King George of England.
