The phrase "deja vu" is French for "already seen" and is used to refer to when a person experiences the feeling that they have seen, experienced, or been someplace before even when they are sure that that is not really true. So, for example, a person who arrives at a new city they have never before visited may experience deja vu on a street, experience the intense feeling that they have been on that street at some point in the past.

Some people who believe in psychic phenomena also believe that the experience of deja vu is evidence of those phenomena. Some may claim that deja vu occurs because a person once saw such a street before remotely, but without realizing it. Others may claim that deja vu is a result of reincarnation - in a past life, the person *did vist that city and that street before.

Deja Vu is the sensation that you experienced the present before.

It is actually sort of a short circuit of your neurons.

Your brain, when taking in the data, will have the information sent into the wrong place. So your brain will interpret the data as coming out of your long term memory instead of going into it.

It tends to happen when you are tired. For some reason that is when your neurons are likely to misfire.

I guess you could say a deja vu is in many ways what we americans call a true "brain fart"

Deja Vu is caused by the belief in Lineal time.

Lineal time doesn't really exist but our belief in it makes it seem to. Consequently the reality we create with our thoughts seems to be moving in a particular direction with what seems to have happened appearing to us as the past and what is going to happen seeming to be the future.

All of this is an illusion. there is in truth only one moment and we call it now for want of a better name. This moment that we call now is all that is real.

This is actually quite easy to prove to your self.

Touch your index fingers together last Tuesday . Go ahead do it.

Difficult isn't it.

Now touch them together next Wednesday. Still a problem isn't it.

Now touch them together right now.

That works a lot better.

Even if you actually waited till Wednesday you would still touch them together at a moment you would properly call now.

Now is in truth the only moment that you will ever have. The past is just a memory. The future no more than an educated guess.

Deja Vu is the result of a hiccup in our belief in Lineal time. As soon as the intellect/ego notices the mistake it corrects it so our belief in lineal time is not shattered.

This speedy repair work by the ego keeps that illusion of time working the way it was intended to work.

Love and blessings Don

Deja Vu is the feeling that one may have of having been somewhere, done something, known someone before even though they haven't.
Those who believe in past lives (reincarnation) may attribute this to actual partial memory of that past life.
Those who believe in soul travel (the spirit leaving the body temporarily) may attribute this experience to some point in one's life when one's soul having travelled to that place, time, leaving a partial memeory of the event.

You come into a situation in your life which you find familiar. Like a familiar place or scene. But probably you just feel you dreamt of it, even before you are at the scene.

It's a weird feeling that you find you SEEM to have came across before, but in fact you know you didn't.

it is the experience of perceiving a new situation as if it has occurred before. It is sometimes associated with exhaustion or some types of mental disorder. Its a French word that means literally, already seen.
