my disc drive when im putting discs in keeps coming up to enter a disc i have tried loads of discs to see if it was just that disc but none is responding plus there should be a little disc that comes up on the screen when you put it in can anyone help me with my problem

You have eliminated the disk as the problem, by trying others. The fault seems to be in the drive.
In order of severity:
* Try a CD cleaner disk
* Open the machine and un-plug and re-plug all the cables to
the CD drive.
* Replace the Drive with a new one (not very expensive)
I am assuming the drive used to work and you have not changed anything
PS Try opening "My Computer" and just check your CD ROM drive is there. If it is not then proceed to opening the PC as above

This happened to me the other day when I was trying to play the Sims2. I could access the files on the disc on MyComputer but it wouldn't run and play the game. Then I restarted it and it worked fine. Try it if you haven't already. I know that sounds really obvious but it worked for me. good luck.

could it be your putting dvd disc into a cd only drive? Or maybe your using CD -R and you need the +R.

your CD ROM for whatever reason is not recognizing the disks. could be many reasons. try reinstall first. how old is your system?
