Speaking as an individual with depression, I can tell you that those words do not help, and constantly being told stuff like that, which amounts to 'well if your depressed just get over it' doesn't do anything but make depressed people (at least me) feel more isolated from society and more depressed. Its good that your religious beliefs make you so happy, but it does nothing for people truly suffering from depression. If you are really depressed, you are so miserable that you can't stand the thought of living another day, and if you believe a god exists you will curse him for allowing such misery and suffering to exist. Sorry to be depressing but I can't really help it, but quoting from a book will never solve the severe chemical balance that leads to real depression, it may help you feel better when you had a bad day, but depression isn't having a bad day, its always having bad days, being unable to remember any time when you were happy and unable to imagine the future holding anything other than more suffering. I hope that gives some insight into the mind of a depressed person :-(

Ignatia amara
Agnate; strychnos Ignatii, St. Ignatius' bean
It is a large tree that is native to the philippines Islands, China and the East Indies. the tree has many and twining stems and produces stalked white flowers. Later, seed pods are produced, each containing ten to twenty large, oval seeds, that are about one inch long and are embedded in pulp. The seeds are highly poisonous and contain strychnine, which affects the Central Nervous system.
Nux Vomica
(Both have similar active constituents) the tree is named after The founder of Jesuits, Ignatius Loyola (1491-1556), and spanish priest beloning to this order brought the seeds to europe during the 1600s.
The homeopathic remedy is made from the powdered seeds and is used especially for emotional symptoms. It is used for grief, bereavement, shock and loss, particularly when a person is having difficulty coming to terms with his or her feelings and inclined to suppress the natural responses. Accompanying symptoms include sleeplessness, anger and hysteria. Similar emotional and psychological problems are helped by this remedy, including anxiety and fear especially of appearing to forward to others, a tendency to burts into fits of crying, self doubt, pity, blame and depression. Nervous tension headaches and digestive upsets, feverish symptoms, chills and pains in the abdomen may be helped by ignatia.
