Question about a Dell Latitude CPt laptop.....Help!!!!?

I bought a refurbished Dell latitude CPt laptop and it has a new battery but when I unplug it from the wall plug the battery dosen't work. It says it has been charging. AM I doing something wrong or not switching something. Or did I get a bad computer? I am not very literate with computers. Can anyone help me out with some advise please.

bad laptop. did you but it off ebay? yep bad pc. getta new apple. macbook or pro.

Sounds like a bad battery or laptop. THis is a fully automatic switchover, you're not doing anything wrong.
