Muscle growth needs three specific things: plenty of resistance (up the weights), plenty of fuel (eat right, cut out a lot of the simple sugars, eat a lot of protein, fiber and complex carbohydrates) and plenty of rest (bi's and tri's are usually hard to increase in size because they are the most often over-trained muscles in the body. You need at least 24 hours, more like 48 hours between arm days to allow the broken down muscle fibers time to heal and grow before you tear them up again with another hard, heavy lifting day.)

Muscle grows rapidly during the first month, after that time,if you stay with the same weight, your muscles become used to it and stop building and start toning. What you need to do is continue to go up in weight.Don't forget that muscle needs protein to grow so eat that meat!
