I am writing a research paper for college concerning the effects of a national smoking ban. I would love feedback from you all on these following questions. Thank You so much!

1. How much do you smoke per day?

2. How much do you spend per day/week?

3. If you live in a state that imposes the Clean Indoor Air Act, did this deter you from smoking? (Did you cut down or quit?)

4. With each rise in cigarette excise tax, does this increase deter you from smoking? (Did you cut down, or quit?)

5. Do you want to quit? If so...

6. What methods have you used to help you quit, and were they effective?

(I may be posting this question several times to get a good number of participants. Please post only once. Again, Thank You!)

Angelz- Thank you for your opinion. For my paper, I am discussing the poisonous effects of cigarettes on humans, and beg the question of why they are not illegal. Then go on to explain those very reasons. The government makes far too much money off the lives of others. I am a smoker myself, (1 pack a day for 15 years, so please.. no reason to feel offended) :D

1. How much do you smoke per day? Not even a full pack

2. How much do you spend per day/week? less then $10 a week.

3. If you live in a state that imposes the Clean Indoor Air Act, did this deter you from smoking? (Did you cut down or quit?) I don't recall this .. act.

4. With each rise in cigarette excise tax, does this increase deter you from smoking? (Did you cut down, or quit?) No

5. Do you want to quit? If so...No

6. What methods have you used to help you quit, and were they effective? I haven't really tried to quit. I have a freind who is disappointed in me so I do smoke a little less because of that. (I have a phobia with people who are ashamed with me :P I am sure I would quit with no problem if my own father was ashamed with me. He doesn't care really)

I have been a smoker for 33 years. I started when I was 12 and I am now 45.

1. Pack to pack and a half per day

2. $25.00 per week

3. Did not deter me at all. I just don't frequent the no smoking places.

4. No I have not cut down. (I can buy my cigarettes on the internet for considerably less.)

5. I do not want to quit

6. Years ago, I tried the patch and also cold turkey. I didn't really want to quit, so it didn't work.

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH EVERYTHING ANGELZ HAS SAID ON ANSWERS 7-12

1 pack per day or a few less, $18 every 10 days, I never intend to quit and I don't care what people think about it. I don't like the price going up, but it's like gas, I'll pay it.
