Darlene is a very old, out of date name. That's my great aunts name, and she was born in the 40's. We call her Auntie/Aunt Darlene.
It is a good name; very sophisticated and pretty, but whenever I hear it, the thing that holds me back from liking it fully is the reason that it's such an old name.
Good luck!

I think it's nice. I do know a couple of ladies named Darlene. One is in her 40's and the other is in her 30's (hopefully, this doesn't offend you, age has nothing to do with the name) I think if you like the name use it!

I have to say that i absolutely hate that name. It sounds like Darling.
My grandmother's real name is Patricia but she goes by Darlene. I do not know why anyone would name their little girl Darlene. It's just
about the ugliest name imaginable.

It's an okay name, I've never actually met anyone with it. It sounds a bit too country and fat old aunty- ish. Like Aunt Darlene.

Yes I like Darlene, but I don't care for Darla or Dharma.
Darlene sounds like "darling"

I've known girls/women named Darlene, but it's not a very common baby name these days.
