I hate it when it goes to a vote but haven't always got time to check the answers before that happens like over Xmas and holidays or just generally if I'm working late although I always read whats the answers are but when it goes to a vote I think most people are just trying to top up their points and don't really care or look at all the answers so some doughnut answer gets chosen as best!

I have done in the past let it go to vote as i couldn't decide which was the best answer as there were so many good ones .. But i put a question up the other day which made me decide against it and that the fact that people when the browse undecided just go for the top answer which on most occasions is the wrong answer! So now i take my time and choose for myself . although it is hard @ times *sighs*

for me, yes. because if i take my time and put thought into an answer i think the person who asked should take the time and pick a best answer, instead of leaving it to the "voters" who are only voting to get those extra points. most times it's one of the first 3 answers or the shortest answers that get best answers on voted questions, which isn't really fair to those of us who take the time to sincerely answer the question. Well I never really look to see if they let their Q's go to voting, but yeah I think if you ask a question and everyone takes time to bother to answer...they should also bother to choose one. It just seems selfish when they don't.

Yes, and I give thumbs up on all questions of mine that people take their time to answer, and I give stars to the people whos question that I answer, But i don't seem to get any. Its like some people don't take time to do anything nice for others, they just want those points for themselves.

I vote for my own answer. I don't like it when people leave their questions go to a vote. It is lazy and they don't get the benefit of your excellent advice.

Yes and no. Some questions deserve to go to a vote. I personally resolve all mine.

You are absolutely right:leaving it up to others.
And the worst of all they still get 3 points back, because the question is resolved.
No way:it should be-5 points.
Sky.

I am not sure what you mean.
I think it is quite good that people are looking at others answers and voting for the one they think is best.
It is just taking an interest
