Don't have examples, but will give you some tips. Firstly, since you are a student, don't make it more than one page long.

Break it into four main headings:

1. Objective - write a short personal statement explaining what kind of job you are looking for and why, and a little about your background. This only needs to be three or four sentences long at most.

2. Education - list secondary school and college/university attended. For secondary school put, for example, "eight GSCEs at grade C or above, including English and maths" - it is not necessary to put every single subject that you studied. For A levels put subjects and grades attained. For university put course of study, e.g. "BA" and major, and expected result - again don't list every single course you took. It's also appropriate to include a subheading titled "Achievements and Awards" and put any awards you received, or if you held any positions of responsibility such as being a prefect.

3. Work Experience - include, for each job, dates of employment, name of employer, and job title. Include *briefly* what your responsibilities were - for the most part one or two bullet points should be sufficient. What I mean is, if you have spent your working life as an assistant in TopShop and you're now applying for jobs related to your course of study, no-one needs to know exactly how you spent every second of your time at TopShop. On the other hand it would be appropriate to go into more detail if it is relevant to the job you're now applying for.

4. References - simply put "references available on request" - don't provide contact details. You don't want your referees to be contacted without your permission.

Then put your contact details in the footer of the page. I only ever put home address, email address and mobile number. Don't put your home number if you're not home during the day to answer your phone.

It is not necessary to include any information such as hobbies, marital status, health status, etc, or to include a photograph. You may like to specify whether you hold a driver's licence if this is relevant, and also your date of birth if relevant. Employers are obviously not allowed to discriminate based on age, but if you're applying for, say, a bar manager's position, they need to know that you're old enough to obtain the relevant licence.

Top tip - use one of the resume templates in Word to make sure that you're remembering to put everything in and laying it out correctly. Then reformat the font and stuff so it doesn't look like you used the template.

Top tip no. 2 - constantly keep in your mind that if it's not relevant, it doesn't need to go in. As a student your CV should definitely be no more than a page long. I am a recruiter and I get really annoyed when graduates send me CVs that are four pages long because they've told me about every single sports game they've ever played in and what mark they got for their piano exam when they were seven years old.

The types of information you shoul/need to include are:-

Personal Information - Name, Address and Date of Birth (this is ESSENTIAL)

Qualifications - Name and FULL address of each school/college/University you have attended since the age 11, Date(s) you where there, ALL exams you have passed AND the grades

Employment - Name and FULL address of any company you have worked for (part time as well as full time, only list the work experience jobs if they are all you have), Dates you were there, Job title and a brief description of the job

Other Information - Computer software you know how to use, AND your hobbies

Referees - Names, Job Title and FULL postal address of 2 people you have worked with or a Teacher and someone who knows you well
