http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Racism
When racismis applied in practice, it takes forms such as prejudice, segregation or subordination. Racism can more narrowly refer to a system of oppression, such as institutional racism. Historian Barbara Fields argued in Slavery, Race and Ideology in the United States of America that racism is a "historical phenomenon" that does not explain racial ideology at all. She suggests that investigators should consider the term to be an American rhetorical device, with a historical explanation. She suggests that using race as a word with real meaning is a common error akin to superstition. However, other scholars say that races do exist, and that the concept has significant meaning. InsertformulahereInsertformulahere Organizations and institutions that put racism into action discriminate against and marginalize a class of people who share a common racial designation. The term racism is usually applied to the dominant group in a society, because it is that group which has the means to oppress others. The term can also apply to any individual or group, regardless of social status or dominance. srooo Racism can be both overt and covert. Individual racism sometimes consists of overt acts by individuals, which can result in violence or the destruction of property. Institutional racism is often more covert and subtle. It often appears within the operation of established and respected forces in the society, and frequently receives less public condemnation than the overt type.

You ask, "Why does black skin shine........? Didn't you learn anything in school? Black absorbs heat. Even pink skin absorbs some. The body's natural oils come to the surface to protect it....
Black is beautiful, as are all of God's colors..............
PS, I'm a white boy, southern bred.......I'll bet your skin would shine too in the humidity we get around here..

I find black skin very attractive.
Its NOT pasty and the melanine is a natural sun block.
FYI: Black people and people of a darker skin age 10X better than white people.

As a black person i should be offended but I'm not... i think you're ignorant. the fact that i get so many requests for skin-care tips from my white friends only goes to show that black skin is gorgeous.
Black skin is generally more resilient..... that's why blacks never look as old as whites of the same age. we have less wrinkles and sags. The shine that you find ugly, normal people refer to as a glow.

I think black and brown skin is absolutely beautiful. Have you ever known a very dark skinned, normal person to want to be light skinned? ~ No. Their skin has been kissed by the sun, and they embrace it... and so do I.

I have yet to see someone with black skin. I have seen some lovely shades of brown and beautiful shades of mahogany, but never black.
