Have spent time in Seattle area, have lived in Pacific Northwest all of my life, and am currently just north of Seattle in Vancouver, B.C.
I love the rain! I will take rain over sun any old day ... except for when I am out taking photo's, then I just want it peaking out of the clouds!

I recently moved to Seattle from the East coast, and even though it rains a lot during the winter, it stays fairly warm (40s and 50s). Seattle actually gets less rain than places like New York, but the rain is concentrated in the winter months. The summers are beautiful and rain-free. I'd take a rainy winter over a bone-chilling Boston winter anyday!

Hey! I grew up around Seattle, and yes it does rain almost constantly. I love the rain! There's also fog through most of the fall, which is beautiful, too :)
I'm near LA now, for school, and it's definitely taught me that I want to live somewhere where it's cold and rainy!

People like to call this the rainy city, but it rains here no more than in New York or Anchorage.

we do get rain esp in winter..but in the city center itself we get NO snow in the winter..if we do get snow it usually rains within a day or two..the rain here is different than midwest rain which is usually in torrents..we get alot of gentle rain here..The summers here are beautiful..but dont tell anyone!!!the rain is ok but in the winter after days of wetness and gray it can get you down...

If you live here long enough you'll get used to it. We usually just get light rain but sometimes in October and November we get flooding.

This past winter was AWFUL here. We had floods, no electricity, fallen trees for all of Christmas week and about five weeks after.
