Untouchable is found in various form in all over the world. But in India it is more related to religion and poverty, and also to some extent the jobs men do.who said untouchables are not educated, starting from Ambethkar, who scripted the constitution of India to the present youngsters there are a lot of achievers and well educated.why the hell u again name or divide some as untouchables in India.the percentage of untouchable has gone down very much.there may be some cases arising out of untouchable in rural areas.our present problem is only the gap between rich and the poor.

Untouchability is No more an issue in our country. There is only some traces of it is left here and there which is insignificant. You must be knowing by this time the Govt. is taking extra and extraordinary steps to educate the sheduled castes/tribes, give them sufficient reservations in all fields of life even after nearly 60 years of Independence. India is moving on right direction in all respect except playing legpulling politics and delayed justice.

Verses 40-47 Chapter-18 of The Holy Bhagavad Gita are:
"""There is no being existing on the Earth, in the celestial spheres or in any universal planetary system which is free from the influence of these three modes of born of material nature. O Arjuna, the activities of the brahmanas, ksatriyas, vaisyas and sudras are clearly divided according to the qualities born of their own nature. The actions of a brahmana arising from his own nature are serenity, self-control, austerity, purity, tolerance, honesty, knowledge of the Vadas, wisdom and firm faith. The actions of a Ksatriya born of his own nature are heroism, exuberance, determination, resourcefulness, without trace of cowardice in battle, generosity and leadership. The actions of a vaisya born of his own nature are agriculture, cow protection and trade, also the actions of a sudra born of his own nature consists in service to brahmanas, ksatriyas and vaisyas. Following each his own activity, a man achieves finally perfection, now hear how he performer of action prescribed according to qualification attains perfection. From whom is the existence of all living entities, by whom all this is pervaded, through worshipping Him, by ones own actions prescribed according to qualification a man achieves perfection. Ones righteous duty imperfectly done is better than another’s duty done perfectly; by performing actions predicated according to ones own nature sinful one does not incur sinful reactions. Actions prescribed according to ones nature must not be given up. O Arjuna, even if defective; since all endeavors are covered with defects as fire is covered by smoke."""
Thus ALL HUMAN BEINGS are divided among these 4 Varnas (categories) and hundreds of castes therein. Those not included in these 4 Varnas (classification) are not given human status and treates as UNTOUCHABLES. They were never touched (except women for passive sex) nor allowed entry in human localities. It is continuing despite secular Indian government enacted/legislated stern laws. Almsot all animals, birds, reptiles, fishes, insects are not Untouchables. It is self satisfying to claim that all other communities & countries are also practising untouchability in some or the other form.
A Hindu cannot change his caste so long as he is a Hindu. They Holy Bhagavad Gita and other Hindu teachings of ancient scripts cannot be changed, modified or altered. This caused conversions to Islam & Christianity, though Indian Government provided abundant facilities, aids and subsidies to Hindus remaining in their original castes. Hinduism is not a religion. It is a culture, tradition, custom and way of Hindus lives. None can convert to Hinduism. A Hindu is born to Hindus in Hindustan (India) and practises Hinduism.
