My Dell Inspiron computer has the bad habit of kicking me off the Internet intermittantly. I could be online all day & be ok & then it might kick me off 3 times in 5 minutes. It also freezes up on me fairly often. I have a 30 gig hard drive & only have 7 gig available.
Could this be part of the problem?
Thanks!

If it is only giving you problems with internet then I would guess that it is either some virus/malware/spyware something of that sort. You can get a great free antivirus at www.free.grisoft.com

If not then the other thing to suspect might be your line, get the phone company to check it for you to mske sure there is not too much noise on it, as this can cause a connection problems, or your modem might be faulty.

I doubt wether it is the hard drive, but you can check it by clicking start then run. Type cmd then enter. This will open a DOS type window. Type chkdsk /f then enter. This will ask if you want to scan at next restart. type y then enter, then restsart your computer and it will scan your hard drive and fix any errors.

When was the last time you updated your anti-virus and scanned your computer? Same goes with spyware...you could have a bug.

i don't think it is the hard drive but you didn't mention your OS so i assume it is XP home? i would make sure your drive is clean and free of virus. defrag lately? and look into another stick of ram
