Teething is an off and on thing that happens for months upon months, depending on how fast the teeth come and how many your child gets at once. Your baby will probably cut the first teeth sometime in the next 7-10 days, but maybe even less. Check out all of the articles on babycenter.com on teething. It's a wonderful resource. Good luck to you!

a teething fever can , get higher than 99 degrees, every child is different in that sense can you see or feel where the tooth is coming in ? and remember they can get more than one tooth at a time. Give your baby lots of cold things to chew on. Depending on how fast they are developing it could last the whole year with the drooling, keep bibs on your baby , being wet is so uncomfortable. I am a pre=preschool teacher and have 6 teething tots everyday. good luck

My kids are 3 and 5 but as I remember teething symptoms usually lasted 2 to 3 days. Buy Baby Oragel and one of those water filled teething doughnuts, they do help. BTW, if the fever is higher than 99 degrees, that is not a fever associated with teething. Just mentioning that since you didn't put that info. in your original post.

My baby teethed for two months before the first tooth popped through. Even though you could feel the teeth under the gums and other moms would say "Oh I feel them, any day now".
You're in for a long time. And then after the first tooth there are 19 more.

My kids drooled, bit, and had a fever for months before the tooth finally came through. My daughter is only 3 months old, and she's already started on the path.
Try feeling the top gum...you could feel those little teeth in there. If you can't, then it could be months away.

Depends. My son had his first tooth just a matter of days after I noticed teething symptoms. But my daughter is going through it now, and it's taking forever! She's been miserable on and off for about a month now. Give your baby some baby tylenol and something cold to chew on.

Teething like that will go on until all the teeth have cut through over the next 12 months +......
Talk to your child's doctor about what to offer to help ease the pain. We gave Children's Motrin and Children's Tylenol (but your doctor may want you to do something different).
Allow the baby to chew on a cold, damp washcloth and he/she may want you to rub their gums.
The slight fever and drool are typical.
As parents, we simply do whatever we need to to offer comfort to our child during this time. This could mean middle of the night stroller rides, gum rubbing, rocking, etc..
I'm sure it's a constant ache so you need to understand that....
