What is the writeoff for truck drivers for everyday they are out on the road and how much is it for a day?

I think you can get deduct all of your expenses that comes out of your pocket.
The kinds of expenses that your company doesn't replenish back into your bank account. Also, if the company takes your deduction, you can't take it.

I would assume though, that you if you save up all your fuel fill-up tickets, you could deduct all those. If you actually paid for repairs done to your truck and you
didn't get reimbursed, then you can deduct. Basically, anything that has to do
with work.

If you use Turbo Tax Deluxe, it will help you. The Deluxe version comes with a Deduction Maximizer which will try to find as many deduction for you as it can. It really does help!

It will very from state to state; the best way is to find out how much the government allows it's employees per day for food and lodging, then use that for your state and federal income tax deductions. Take your log book, it will tell you how many days you were on the road and put the cost of meals and lodging on the log book it's self. You can use that to back up all of your claims, that is a legal document. Do this daily.
