A sex crime is a felony whatever the age of the assailant. Punishment is called for. A judge and jury can decide what punishment fits the circumstances.

i think our law are all mess up. the people that make the law need to revise some of these law. everyone is not a felon, i feel if they repent of their sin. the bible say the it will not be remember no more. it not God that hole it over your head it people ready to condemn and don't know the person character.
I have found out that if the news say that you are a sex offender, or someone is sentence at a sex offender everyone else has label them of that crime. Judge ye not that you may be judge is what the word says. Many people today are wrongfully charge of a crime. Because someone did not get their way with another. the sad part about is. All the time they served they get nothing for their pain and suffering. But I am sorry i made a mistake. Half of that person life is gone. there character is mess up and it is hard for them, because they can't get jobs etc.
I feel that a 13 year old should not be charge with a felon. NOT HAPPY

Well I think that if the minors were both consenting that it should not be considerd most parents arent going to see it that away Being that I went through A simular thing Laws have changed since then But the older brother if he is 15 or older well that should be a definet issue then yes tey both should be punished for there indescretions the younger of the group prisomn would be a little harshas far as a bully strong arming is defenitly a crime as well as assult they should be punished accordingly but life is a little harsh and the roomate in highschool well if he is bullieing yes and in todays society repent is 99% of the times just words with no meanings

I have to agree with the "a crime is a crime" school of thought here and trust the wisdom of the juvenile court to make the right call on treatment, punishment and further investigation to find the source of this problem. Besides, the odds are that they are in an abusive environment, yes that's an unsupported assumptive generalization- sue me, but I think getting them away from the home with an "arrest" might be the first step in saving them. If it turns out that they were abused by adults at an earlier age, I'm thinking Drawn and Quartered sounds about right for those folks. They can repent after the first commercial break and just before the tractors throttle up for the first tug.

that's touchy shes 13 so still by a law a child. there is a mental problem with her in my eyes. i think she needs therapy. i don't know if its a felony. depending on how old the brother is even if hes 15 or 16 that is a young age for him to be interested in 8 and younger. they shouldn't be in prison for life hats a Little harsh considering the age of 13 a mental evaluation maybe community service and some sex ed are in need for something of that nature. the bully has a point if he or she is in relation to said 8yr old or younger. now the roommate is just a roommate never did anything wrong from what your giving.

i think there mentally unstable may have been abused at a younger age need evaluations. i wouldn't call them felons unless there at an age of complete knowledge of what they did. they should but shouldn't be forgiven they should be punished for a few years or perform community service they should not be allowed to babysit for many years they should be allowed to apologize and get mental evaluations. now if they relapse which you didn't cover then they should be put in mental hospitals.

Pedophilia is against human nature i think its more of a mental disease but a 13 yr old is a young child and doesn't always know or understand the error of their ways

Man, that's horrible! A babysitter of 13 years of age guilty of felony? What did she do so bad? In Italy (my country) would not even consider it a crime but, maybe, just something that would require the attention of a doctor. She is a baby and not and adult, how can some of you talk about a judgement, a jury... why not electric chair? My friend, why don't you post this question to Yahoo outside USA and read the answers you'll get from european countries? Talking of pedophilia involving a 13 years old girl is really too much, with all respect I think some of you is insane!

Pedophilia is one of the crimes / psychological or otherwise that can't be treated..it's base and one of the worst crimes anyone can commit......But there can be some variances in the commission of the act..Minor on minor offenses are treated somewhat differently in some states..but it is not an exception......

This is a horrible act no matter who commits the crime

Minors that are caught need treatment while incarcerated........

something needs to be done, or i think she would repeat this over and over. She's 13, not 3. She must know between right and wrong. someone should be finding out where she learned this stuff from.
