Can you uncook a boiled egg? Break the shell and eat it.

If still under warranty, send it in for RMA.

As the others said, the hard drive is probably fried. Once it is, data can be recovered but it's an expensive process, sometimes into the thousands of dollars. However, if there's a burning smell inside your case you want to make sure it's actually the hard drive that's blown and not something on the board (or both). If it's under warranty see if you can return it, otherwise your cheapest bet would be to get another hard drive, replace the old one, and see if you can reinstall the operating system. If you get the same errors, chances are the board is fried also. Once you get it fixed, remember to back everything up!

I can safely say you need a new computer. That smell only comes from a burned processor, which means the heat of the processor damaged the motherboard, which means you need a new motherboard. A new motherboard could cost as much as a new computer. I would bet that is what, and I wouldn't spend the money to find out if I was right before spending it on a new computer.

not good

usually caused by power surge from the national grid or weather conditions.

it's gonna be VERY expensive to recover that data !!

i would just cut your loses and be thankfull that it was only your hard drive that got fried !!
