Yes, there are alot of products sold that claim to fix your problem, and maybe some of them can fix it for a while, but in my expirence, there is no such thing as a "Mechaninc in a Can". In no way will pouring a can of anything in your engine be better than having a certified mechanic repair it correctly with the propper parts. By doing this you also ensure that any other problems that have stemed from this, or that caused this, are found and diagnosed by someone who knows what to look for. My advice, if you have a trusted mechaninc, take your vehicle to him and explain everything that has happened, and ask him what he thinks the best way to handle it is.

If you do not have a trusted mechanic you use, I would highly recomend finding one, it is always good to have a trusted mechanic in the area you live, it means you have someone you know you can trust to take your vehicle to for repairs. For help finding a good mechanic, ask around and see who friends use and have used, you can also consult the Better Business Bureau to find a list of BBB Members in your area, these are shops that the BBB has found to be upstanding and honest and have no unresolved issues or complaints against them. Good luck, I hop this helps.

Just replace the head gasket get the cyl head checked for straightness and resurfaced while in there replace the eight spark plugs any coolant hoses over 20 years old. You know new trucks get better gas mileage and are safer larger and in a accident air bags save lifes?

any goo that is thick enough to plug a hole in the head gasket will plug up the radiator and heater core, too. just do it right the first time. combustion pressures of 800 psi will still force gasses into the cooling system....even if you manage to keep the coolant from entering the combustion chamber. that is a simple head gasket to replace anyway. if you do decide to pour a new gasket in, have someone kick you in the knee, and give them some money, because that would be just as smart. ---------------------
p.s. the quickest fix for this is to throw the keys away, and walk away as you mumble: what truck...aint my truck...dont look at me like that.....sped. got it?

If it was ran hot there is a real good chance that the head is warped, I myself have never tried any miracle "cures in a bottle" but I have had similar things happen to me and found that the best way to fix the problem was to do the repairs required and save yourself the headaches.

Sorry friend,

I would not use any product off a store shelf for this type of trouble.

ASAP, get it checked and repaired if your going to keep this truck...

if not, i guess try it out and see for yourself if it helps.

Best wishes,

get a new head gasket. if not you will warp your head. that liquid is a temporary fix.
