Is it because they are presumptuous, ignorant, and Naive' about politics? And when they open their mouth do they always have to sound so righteous even though they haven't a clue?
I wish young people would not be allowed to vote until they have served time in the military or volunteer at a nursing home/(served comunity service of some sort).

Why are Old fogies more likely to be Republicans who kiss Pres. Bush's butt than younger people??? Come on man. BTW I am a 25 yr old Dem who did do my Community Service, and still do on W,TH,F. How come it is that MOST of you Republicans are always stereotyping everybody??? As I see it don't stereotype me based on my Political Preference and I won't stereotype you on your Political Preference.
EDIT: We're Cool. I do blame me for voting for Bush. Believe me. I went. Did my online studying. Read the News papers. Believed I was voting for the right guy. I was wrong. And Life goes on. I agree. Blame the people who voted for him. Not the man. But I definitely don't agree with how he is handling stuff. But That will happen no matter who is in office. (PS, I went ahead a caps Locked a Key word that helps keep you from being stereo typical when describing others. Doesn't work all the time, but keeps Hypocrits off your butt, for the most part)

In general I think it's because, they are just out of the house ( finally off mamma's tit),....on their own and want to live there own life, without being told anything, anymore by their parents or someone else. So,.... in doing so they become liberal and in most cases believe in" live and let live".......and that deduces to a "Democrat",,, and then democrat deduces into..........get more free sh-t, from the government ,I can..... be a whiny cry baby, I can..... blame it on someone else and never be held accountable for anything. I can..... believe " you can go first, only after me!". I can..... open my mouth and b-tch, but never really say anything and never do anything. I can .....think that as long as I have a car , a cell phone , an apartment, and a g/f or a b/f nothing else matters,.......because... I'm in my own little world and I don't give a sh-t about anything that is not going to make my life more fun! Oh.....I forgot one .......being a democrat gives you the excuse to be a two bit, butta sandwich eat'in, coward!!!!!!! AND I MEAN THIS WITH ALL DUE RESPECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If u mean the 20s to 30s crowd ... I found them to be Dildo O'Reilly types. The Hippy Generation has all the good jobs. The Hippy Generation smoke too much and there won't be any money left over for our retirement. And, they listen to Rush. So, maybe one day they'll grow up, take the tongue rivets out, laser off the majority of their tattoos and realize anything the Conservatives make decisions on doesn't include the little guy except for massive National Debt.

Youth is a time of rebellion, and I think young people see Republicans as the "system", or a party just for rich conservative people or something. Naturally they want to rebel against or change this system and see the more liberal Democratic party as the way to do so, but their youthful idealism and probably radical ideas muddle chances for realistic change.
I know this question is eight years old, but my answer is as relevant as ever.

It's too early in the morning and prior to my first cup of coffee for me to answer any political questions. Right now I can't even remember if I'm Republican or Democrat to answer properly. Sheesh... I can't even remember if I'm in the young category.

I sort of agree with you, but I think it is more because younger folks have more free thinking minds and think the world is a safe place and their futures are secure, when we become older we are less idealistic and want to hold onto as much as we can, and be secure.
