I think it does. But sometimes the idea just backfires as the viewer thinks that the thing the boys do in the movie is too impossible, and refuse to take into account the message the movie sends out, and claims it is stupid. I don't agree though. How many of us really paid attention in history class? How better could we know and understand what our ancestors went through then than watching familiar actors and actresses playing their parts?
Rang de Basanti is not the only such film, though. There is Anniyan and there is Anbe Sivam and Ghajini, which are Tamil films, and couldn't get much popularity for this reason. So, if you're interested in these themes, first watch these with a subtitle. They're great!

yes rang de basanti has surely left good impact on Indian youth. Todays youth has great ideas & can lead India on path of progress but they need some motivation & inspiration which such movies provide, so i appreciate this movie which has shown the strength of youth..............

The impact of films and TV on youth is short lived. Only the genetic impact that we acquire at birth matters.

Sadly it didn't have any impact on the youth. Actually, there were some reactions, but ffaded away with time. The movie is nice. It just shows how difficult is it to fight for a good cause, but if one can really come up with it, he can begin a revolution...

No. I don't think any of these politically charged movies have any impact on the youth of India.

No body watch movies very seriously in these days, for youth it is just a time pass. They will go for the cinema, wathc and forget, frankly speaking it will not make any impact on youth.

I'm not Indian but I watched it. And I loved the film. It is the best film of the year, for me.
Believe it or not, but that film showed us the real face of our society. And it's very true. As in the film, unless something happens to us, we are not going to do anything. And if we do, we are going to be crushed.

Of course they have some impact, but everything has some impact. I don't think they are revolutionary by any stretch of the imagination.
