it is a very good question, i'm an Egyptian and i have done a research about that topic i finished it after 6 years, i read alot of reasearches and i was helped by Egyptian Anthropologists. at the end we realized that 91% of Egyptians are (Egyptians) which is an Easten Hamictic branch meaning that they are the descendents of the Ancient Egyptians, the other 9% are Nubians, Turks, Arabs, Beja, Domari, Amazigh, Freanch, Armenians, Greeks, Italians. this is the scientific answer.
good luck

Not Middle Easterns, not Africans, not Arabs, not anything else. We're just Egyptians.
