My tv was switched on to some programme on the Academy Awards, but it's all about celebrities what they are wearing and who looks the best.
I found it ridiculous that such a long programme can focus on such trivial matters that no one will remember a week from now.
All around me I see people leading their own lives and no one actually talks a lot about the tabloids, yet somehow the demand for such things are high. I am wondering who are the people that watch these kind of programmes (besides the sponsors of the clothings and accessories on these celebrities)and regularly purchase magazines devoted soley to celebrity gossip.

It's called living through other people. It's serious conspiracy theory but.....it's the government's way of keeping us interested in something else besides what they are doing.
Have you noticed the larger amount of minorty, gays and other groups that are fianlly making it big. It's to keep the little guys happy. The middle and lower classes worship these STARS so they feel that Big Momma America is still the land of hopes and dreams. You've heard it- I'm living the American dream. When in reality that means- Work 50 hours a week, buy a home, have health insurance, get married , have kids, get a dog and then you retire.

I've wondered the same thing. I think deep down we have this desire to be noticed. As a girl, it seemed wonderful to have your hair styled, a beautiful flowing dress, make-up and jewelry. I really think most people are so unhappy in their own lives that they believe if they can look like or act like a celebrity it will get them noticed and appreciated.

I dont. Got better things to do and worry about. I like actors, musicians and so on but only their profession. If there is an interview on and i liked them i would listen to it but i wouldn't go out of my way. I really dont care what they wear.

Personally, I could care less... but some people dont have a life of their own, so they stick their nose up other people's lives.
