For the past 3 years i have not had a regular period, at first for the past 2 years i have been barely getting periods and for the past 6 to 8 months i have been getting my period every month and it has been longer than 7 days, around 9 sometimes even between periods I get it again. Also lately i have been having red tissue and clotts as well. And today it is very heavy every 2 hours I have to change. What could be the problem and how can I treat it?

A change in your menstrual pattern always merits the opinion of a doctor and a physical exam. A regular cycle that becomes irregular is more worrisome than one that has always been irregular, and periods longer than 7 days or that are unusually heavy also need to be looked into. At 18, sexual activity or not, you should have your first "well woman " gynecological exam and Pap smear anyway. But don't ask for that, tell them when you schedule your symptoms.

Trying to tell you the problem would be blind guessing, and it would not change the need to see a doctor about this.

Go to the doctor, your estrogen levels are probably off. That or you are still growing. I've had my period since I was nine and I've never been late or missed it. Go figure!

Pls go to your dr to have this looked in to to check to make sure that things like hormone imbalances aren't going on.
