i have started contractions at 9.15 last night and since then it came and went every half an hour after about 3 hours of this same routine it started getting shorter up to 15 minutes apart, i rang the labour ward to explain my setuation and they said i am in first starge of labour but because its my second baby i could go on like this for a couple of days. i went to bed eventually but could hardly sleep because the contractions continues right up to now while i am writing this but still at 15min apart not any stronger or any longer just the same. i have lost my mucus at the begining of the week and now i am physically exhausted! The midwifes wont do anything to help me along..

my question is has any one been through the same experinece? If so, how long after did you notice ur contractions getting closer and stronger? Can i also state that i am 40 weeks prego with my second!

i know the weather isn't great today but a walk might well get them going more regular. a friend of mine had a slow start to her labour and she was contracting for 3 days before it really started. try the walk it might work. try to eat regularly to keep your strength up and if you can have a nap too. good luck and congrats xxx

some of the best things to do to speed up the first stage of labour is to walk round for a while, drink raspberry leaf tea, eat pineapple, have a hot bath with peppermint oil in it, or have sex.
i was in the first stage of labour for about a week i had contractions ever night and then the just randomly stopped half way through the day, in the end i had to have my waters broken, you'll probably have to have your water broken if it carries on for a long time.

I'd get to hospital if I were you. With a second baby things could suddenly speed up, and you don't want to caught out. I don't understand why your midwife isn't suggesting this, especially as you've lost the plug. You might be open to infection without it. Pick up your bag and get yourself there girl, and good luck. Let us know what you have, and when!

I'd say get yourself to the hospital and walk around there for a little bit to speed things up. Maybe try to get some rest, but I know from experience that it's easier said than done!

Congrats!!

All I can suggest to speed your labour up is to walk around alot, this helped me.

Good luck and I hope your baby arrives soon for you!

Take a walk, or enjoy some intimate time with your husband. It'll help things along.

My wife had a similar experience. She felt labor pains for more than 25 hrs.
