All critics of the royals find the weapon of ostracization exercised upon them - at work, they lose their chances for promotions, and their co-workers give them the cold shoulder; their friends no longer seek their company, and even their neighbors leer at them. Thus the would be critics shut up and keep their criticism to themselves.
Its the royals control of the social system in britain thru the power to have critics ostracized, which they ruthlessly exploit and use, by means that have been accomplished by brainwashing from birth to inculcate in the minds of all brits that they are necessary to the emotional lives of brits, those stuff shirted characters that dont seem to get excited about anything, except the royals whose brainwashing brings that about.
This stuff about tourist money coming in has some truth but who gets the money from that source? The royals themselves who sell themselves by memorabilia and their prostituted entourage who run the businesses that get the money. Its all headed in one direction, and not to the british people.
Thats why brits cant get rid of them.
Thats how the royals got one hand in every brits pocket, the other over ever brits mouth

When deluded people stop worshiping as though they were god. It is sad as people so need someone to bow down to that to them the Royal family are it. They only got to be royal by fighting killing and wars and other terrible deeds. Nothing to be proud of. People have been brained washed to believe they are almost God himself. It is pathetic.

i'm no longer British, and this is as a lot because the British people to make your ideas up no matter if or not they opt for to save their monarchy. although, i do not see the point of being "obsessed" with them. The employer of monarchy is exciting, it serves some functional applications, this is thrilling to video demonstrate it -- yet "obsession"? that is going quite far. those who sense the monarchy should be abolished believe that that is an intense priced anachronism in recent times and merchandise, no longer unreasonably, to inherited and unearned position and privilege. they have a level. you would have a glance on the area lower than as a thanks to get a sense of their perspectives on the challenge. although, relax straight forward. maximum people of the Brits believe you. they opt for the monarchy to stay, a minimum of in the mean time. Edit: Daniel W, contained in the U. S., the regulation easily calls for the President to pay for his own prices mutually with his own funds. That even contains the nutrition that he and his family individuals devour contained in the White homestead except at State dinners, each and each of the garments they placed on, the holidays they take to places except Camp David, their youngster's college expenses, go back and forth prices except those of the President himself (it truly is, for his kinfolk), etc. etc. etc.

A country doesn't dump a tourist attraction. If you go rid of the family the next thing they would want to do is get rid of half the buildings and then why would tourists want to go there? You have something unique that no other country still has, treasure it quit acting like its a liability. It's not like they are actually ruling you got Parliament to do that.

I don't really see how the royal family is hurting your pocket book? I mean, are the taxes there so high so as to be taking a huge portion of your net worth? And I believe the royal family lives on their own money -- they did inherit it.

I would have been more pleased had you been a passenger on a certain London bus back in July 2005...

Typical lefty, wants taxes to only be spent on social welfare programs. I'm sorry for the homeless people of London, but 99% of them are there due to their dependence on drugs and alcohol. Plenty of programs available to help them soon as they get the monkey off their back.

Kum-by-ya liberals such as yourself truly live in a vacuum...
