I gained 30 pounds in a month and a half on it. Which no other birth control pill has ever made me gain weight. I'm sure I just had a uncommon reaction. I lost all the weight as soon as I stopped taking it.

Any hormonal birth control can cause weight gain or weight loss in some women. If this is a big issue, you should discuss which contraceptive is best for you with your doctor or pharmacist, but whether you gain or lose still comes down to whether or not you control your diet.

Don't forget that pregnancy causes an average 20 to 30 pound weight gain! Not everyone loses it all after birth, and some gain even more. Women are different.

Yes it can but as one of the other posters said some women are different. I fall in to this category when it came to Yaz. I lost almost 10 lbs while I was on it for a period of 6 months.

I looked on the website it says some people gain weight, some lose weight, and some see no difference:

if anything.. i think i may have lost weight from taking yasmin. if possible ask your doctor if you can change to a different pill, and if u suddenly drop weight, or dont gain anymore than stick with that one.
