This guy who goes to my school has asked me to go to a show with his friend and his parents. This boy isn't exactly popular and I'd get teased for going, which made the decision hard enough (I know it sounds terrible!), but I was considering going until he said that we're going out to dinner beforehand.
Now recently I've been trying to eat a lot healthier, and if we were to go somewhere like a Chinese restaurant, I'd be obsessing over what I ate the entire time.
Please don't tell me that I shouldn't be worrying about what I eat that much, I already know that.
I'd tell him I can't go but I feel I've already asked too many questions about the night to just turn around and say I have something on...
I'm stressing out! How can I get out of potentially eating bad? It'd be okay if we were definitely going somewhere I know I could just grab a salad or something, but there's the chance we'll go somewhere I can't escape.
I'm sorry for it being so long :P

He asked a few boys as well, actually. They turned him down. It's nothing about 'guts' he's bringing a guy friend he knows from another school.
What if it's Chinese or something where it's impossible to be healthy?

Oh, my God. No, I'm not just going with him because his parents are paying for everything, I'm going because he's nice. I never said that I didn't like him, did I? Read the question next time, please.

You need breaks in any diet. If your going with the parents I am sure your not hitting a fast food place. But nowadays even fast food places have salads.. so quit stressing and enjoy the free movie and dinner!
(p.s. Teasing is a bummer but it's not your fellow students business what you do with your personal life. If they are so shallow gossip is their only form of entertainment your at least a better person than they are..)

My advice, be gracious at all times. Find something on the menu that you can eat. Smile and have a good time. Don't even let them know you have a problem with the food. Even if you can only find food that's not the heathiest, then go ahead and eat some anyway but do so in moderation. Join in the conversation at the table and get people interested in the discussion. Then they may not pay so much attention to what you eat.

I'm watching my diet too. Look at it as a treat. You already have your diet regimen, one night of a splurge isn't going to hurt you. In fact it's good to accept a splurge every once in a while. Otherwise you may slide off the wagon and go back to pizzas and burgers or whatever. It's your treat for having done well for however long. Just enjoy the meal and the company and the show, and go back to your normal diet the next day.

If you go to a Chinese restaurant, they usually have diet dishes, like steamed vegetables with rice. Keep the conversation lively and distract their attention from your eating. You can also eat half and request the rest to be boxed up for you to take home. Comment: "I think Chinese food always tastes better when it's warmed up. Leftovers are my favorite meal!"
Take it from a professional anorexic who has a trick for Everything!!!
Good luck. Don't stress!

Technically anything you eat now a days is potentialy unhealthy. So the best way to eat "healthy" is to order only what you like and in the amount you can comfortably eat. Also, you can try explaining how you feel to them and see if something cant be worked out.

Sounds like a ' keeping up with the Jone's '; he has to be popular, just listen to yourself !! This guy just might be a together person, whom has a few jealous people running their mouth. I believe you should be lady-like and be charming to all, after all, you are the main attraction. God Bless !!

"This boy isn't exactly popular and I'd get teased for going"
So because he isn't popular, you propable don't want to go because going out with a non-popular guy which DID have the guts to ask you gets dumped because YOU are going to get teased for it afterwards. Cute, I don't think you deserve to have that dinner and night out, especially after you worry so much after YOURSELF!

You're only going out with him because he's giving you a free movie and free dinner?
Man, that's pretty bitchy.
