2. They do not fully understand the issues that are most important to thier country

One word: ERAP.
Celebrities (eg. actors) should not be elected into public service positions because the one thing that actors do well is to lie--or otherwise be very good at the art of manipulating people to believe in whatever their agendas are. Prior to being elected, all actors have done for a living is assume the role of another individual in a movie role. Can you imagine how easy it would be for an actor to misrepresent himslef to the public? He could be stealing billions of dollars from the public and still be convincing his people that he is an honest saint.

Generally speaking, actors are dumb politicians because they don't have degrees in law or pilitical science... I'd say ALL of them. So even if some finished college, still they aren't qualified to run a town or a city, more so the whole region because of lack of knowledge on constitution, economics and all the subjects in pol. sci. Celebrities who shouldnt run for election? Richard Gomez - he used to work at the counter of Mc Donalds, Cesar Montano - don't know about his education level but he looks dumb to me, besides he started out as a bold star in his early days in showbiz, who else... all the actors and basketball players in general.

the only reason i can think of is that most of them did not even finish high school.. they will be making laws etc.. the only actor i know who's qualified to become a politician is herbert bautista because he studied for it.. he was a political science graduate of san beda.. the line "i want to serve my country and help the poor etc" is passe.. i think they can help more if they remain as actors and earn money then give to the poor by doing charity work etc..

i'm not really against them running for elections. the thing here is, as long as they could do their jobs well and serve the people in the most apt manner then they could.
a degree is not necessary in running the government. as long as people have the willingness to share themselves for the service of their country men then it would be ok.

i forgot how much the salary of politicians are but i'm sure it's much smaller than what they make while acting. i don't understand why you would want to get a job where you will earn less than what you're making now unless you intend to steal it from the taxpayers.
