The south of Italy is called "Il Mezzogiorno", the Land of the Midday Sun (I believe Mezzogiorno literally means midday). This might be what you are looking for, there are a lot of references to it.

Also in North Carolina (in the US) is a park called "Nantahala National Forest". Apparently Nantahala is an Indian word meaning "land of the midday sun". But a park probably doesn't qualify as a land.

Every point and location on Earth has a midday sun because everywhere on Earth has daylight at some point. If you actually meant 'midnight sun' then that would apply to any where on Earth above the Arctic Circle- i.e. Norway,Finland,Sweden,Alaska,Canada,Greenland and parts of Northern Siberia. The term can equally be applied to anywhere inside the Antarctic Cirle - i.e. Antarctica. It is called the 'midnight sun' because for a few months of the year the sun never actually sets due to the inclination of the Earths axis; currently around 23.5 degrees from vertical. Hope this helps.

I have never heard of the term "land of the midday sun". However at sea it is the normal practise to ascertain the ship's position at noon local time, as that is when the sun is theoretically directly overhead the ship's position. Today because of satellite navigation, sun sights are not usually relied on by ship's navigation officers. Hope this helps?

If you mean the' land of the midnight sun' then several countries lay claim to the title inclding Norway, Lapland, Greeland, as well as the northern part of Canada and the state of Alaska. The sun does not set completely during the midsummer months hence the name.

You are thinking of a song, or a verse, aren't you? Is it a Noel Coward song, or a Kipling Verse? I think it was just a reference to the tropics, where at midday, it's really hot!
I remember now! It's from Mad Dogs & Englishmen, Noel Coward!
