Hassan,

From what I have learned in many ways the Iranian people are similar to the western world.

They enjoy many of the things that we enjoy.

However, the governments of our countries don't usually express what their people are really like.

The governments express their political philosophies and that is what the general media shows us.

Unless we in the western world see an independent travelogue about a country or get an independent view that is un-politicized we get a biased view.

But we in the USA with our leadership have the same problem that you have with your leadership...it does not always present the true make up of the citizens.

This is where the citizens of these countries should come into play to be heard and maintain peaceful relations.

Do you LIVE in Iran? Can you vote? Do agree with Ahmadi-nejad that the mahdi will appear in Qom in the next month or so?

I think that if you live in Iran you have power and privilege to access the internet. Most likely you do not live in Iran. You may not even know what it was like prior to the revolution of 1979 and what was good about that time compared to the oppressive theocratic rule of Ayatollah Khamenei. Not oppressive? Is VEVAK much different from pre-revolutionary SAVAK?

Are you a mahdaviat? Do you think that the money spent on preparing Qom for the mahdi could better be spent on education and healthcare for people who do not have access to it?

Do you ever think about the non-Muslims who used to live in Iran?

The north of Iran is pretty (especially Mazandaran province) but parts of it are also radioactive (Ramsar) which may be why Ahmadi-nejad has visions of light around him when he speaks of the mahdi. (Although he was born near Garmsar, maybe he spent time near the radiation).

Iranian food is delicious so it is too bad that the government of Iran is so adamantly anti-American. We should be friends.

Maybe the lust for power and control blurs the consciousness of Iran's leaders who hide behind religion to promote their personal agenda.

There are really none of us here who can answer that question unless we've visited or lived there.

I have to tell you that your Grand Ayatollah and Mahmoud are giving you a bad name, the UN sanctions are going to ruin your country, and you may soon be seeing American "shock and awe".

Stay away from the mountains and the big cities. That's what we're going to hit first.

I know Iran. You are our neighbours. One ur Irani friend thinks that there is no snow in Pakistan. Tell him if u know. Still fighting about it. BTW if Americans come to ur country...kick the shi..t outta them!! Also please tell the world that ur Nuclear programme is about the energy (electricity and power) for the country not for the bombs and destructive things.
What a layman in the American society needs to understand is when their government propagates hate messages because of the nuclear thing of Iran, they are forgetting that they have their own nuclear programme. Which is as unstable and unprotective with irresponsible people as it is with any country.
Why can't citizens of world have equality?

I think you guys should go back to being called Persian and keep on making rugs. They sold well and everyone likes them. Leave the nuclear ambitions alone. I have nothing against Persia. Please recall all the terrorist in the middle-east. So, our troops can come home. Thank you soldiers for searching the planet for terrorist.
