First of all, why is she your girlfriend and not your wife? As she is 12 weeks pregnant and cramping, the chances are that she will be having a miscarriage. This is not a bad thing, as nature is a very good housekeeper, and the fetus may not be developing normally. She should stay in bed if she can, and try to relax with the cramps. If nothing is expelled, she should see a doctor for a possible D&C. They will explain that to you. In any case, try to comfort her as these things can happen and she will be ok. Best wishes

There is no normal...because she is unique in her pregnancy experience. While, yes, most women will have aches and pains (cramps) starting with implantation, that doesn't mean something else could be going on. Call the doctor and tell them whenever in doubt. But in my opinion otherwise, this is very normal and she'll be having it the whole 9 months. Congrats!

some cramps are favourite, her uterus has to stretch and advance for the infant and he or she will experience that. i could call her well being practitioner related to the back discomfort nevertheless. 12 weeks seems early for back discomfort/cramps. problems contain being pregnant too.
