I have never been any good at appealing to egos. in fact, I hate when people try to appeal to my ego. It takes a certain vanity and moral cowardice to think that you can change a person's mind by petting them like a dog while you sneak you're opinions into the back of their mind.
I don't mean to sound belligerent, but I simply can't stand those kinds of people. I've seen them get screwed using that method. Intelligent people see right through it. It doesn't work, its immoral, and its infuriating. Don't do it.

I try to give from the heart answers if the person seems in trouble, I relate to any life experience I might have had. Often I will say It will pass, because it does, nothing in life is static. The questions that appeal to me are the ones I perceive as surreal, like Morton Froob, and then I think, what if he did have neighbours like the Riff Raff, ones he ask questions about, and is it my ego that is being fed. Who knows.

I try to just answer the question just as it is asked. And since I don't know what the "asker" wants to hear, I can't very well tell him what he would like to hear, and I'm not sure how to relate to "let them have it" except I let them have my honest and sincere answer without too much complication.

Depends who I'm talking to. By no means am I spineless or am I stupid. If it's an authority figure or someone who holds some sort of power in my life be it a boss or a judge...I'm not about to run my mouth off on how I feel. That's when you bite the bullet. When it comes to a lover however, or a friend, or a crazy looney who needs to be put in their place, yeah I have no problem doing it.

That all depends. I tell them what they want to hear if that is my opinion but if I disagree I just say do. I don't give them whatfor because everyone is entilteld to his or her own opinion even if it does not agree with my own. I can usually respect that.

I try to give advice to the best of my knowledge, unless it is a stupid question, then I let them have it, many are looking for that.
