Yes, it is normal..and this basically is extrastitial fluid leaking. What is the more important question is what did you jab or get stabbed with? Was it clean..and afterwards did you clean the wound? Did it bleed well? What is your age..are you diabetic, had a tetanus within the last ten years? I doubt that it was that deep, that would have bled like crazy and probably needed lots of pressure to stop..it probably seemed as it was that deep. Put some antibiotic ointment on it and keep it clean and covered. Beware of yellowish or green drainage, beware of odor/pain, fever or increased redness.

When a wound seeps fluid and blood it is a sign of an infection. Go to your doctor immediately. It can spread.

started with a rash at ankle bone and 2inches above/itching badly, i scratched it, made it bleed, created infection, the weeping began. I believe the infected rash, has become cellulitis. Not able to get to primary dr. till Monday. Be cleaning it gently and well, then applying an astrigent, hoping to stop weeping. Am i on right tract, until i can get Keflex or other bacterial skin infection antibiotic?

I don't know if you have insurance or not, but right now is a time when I would invest in a Dr visit. Chances are you will pay for the visit only and they will give you sample anti-biotics. Good luck. It sounds like it's infected.

this could be just the fluid that eventually forms the scab however it may well be an infection in which case get to your doctor asap esp if you feel unwell as infection can spread throughout the body
