It depends on the birth if it was a C- section then about a week but if its a natural birth with no problems than they will let you out the next day, providing you are happy to do so

In the uk on the NHS they are keen to get you out as soon as possible if their have been no problems. My sister gave birth at 10am and was home in time for Eastenders (7.30pm) and had to go back to the hospital a couple of days later becuase a doctor hadn't even looked at the baby.
In my mothers day (30 years ago) it was at least 5 days no matter what.
I had a normal birth, no complications and I stayed in 3 nights purely because I was luck and they were quiet so weren't trying to get me out the door!
Personally I needed that time. Although I had been pregnant for 9 months (obviously) I was surprised when I got the baby put in my arms!!
I was also Breastfeeding so they are keen to keep you in and ensure its established. I gave up 3 days later though!

im from ireland and on my last 2 i was out the same day but on my 3rd and LAST! i was kept in 4 the babys sake to keep an eye on his heart, personally id rather be home asap.you cant sleep in hospitals and you cant start a routine.on my 1st i had the epidural 4 the pain cos it was all new 2 me,and on my 2nd and 3rd id no drugs and felt brilliant and was out quicker,i was having a shower 15 mins after having them.i was onlt kept in 4 24 hours on my 3rd but it seemed like a week its up 2 the docs and how long thet think you should stay in but if you can handle it dont take the drugs, they prolong your stay in my book

Depends on loads of things. If it's not your first and you wanna go, you can go after 24 hours. If it's first, then yiou can go after 24 hours too, but 48 is better. if baby lost a bit too much weight, or you are really tired or baby blues hit very hard, stay a bit longer. They don't turf you out, and they don't make you stay, so it's around the 2/3 day mark, but my advice is get outta there as soon as you feel ready.

As long as you feel you need to! I stayed for 3 days until my milk came in and I had got to grips with breast feeding.( It's not always easy). A friend of mine came out the same day after her third baby but another was in for a week. It all depends on you and your baby.

When my wife had our son in London in 1996 the policy was: Birth before 14:00 out the same day. After 14:00 out the next morning. Without complications of course.

It depends really with my 1st I was in for 2 days but with my 2nd i was out within 6 hrs. It all depends how the birth went and how yourself and baby are. Do what you feel is right at the end of the day and go when you feel ready.

Where I live in the UK, if everything goes well you are allowed to leave six hours after the delivery....and thats what I fully intend to do. Its a nightmare in there if your baby is sleeping and everyone else's is keeping you awake....how are you supposed to rest? Anyway this is my third so if all goes well I will be sat at home several hours later....if you have a tough time its usually a few days that they like you to stay....also they like you to stay overnight if its your first. goodluck x

it depends on how the feeding is going, weight and size of the baby, how you are how the baby is, if you have a Cesarean it's usually about 3-4 days or a natural deliver anything from a few hours to about 2 days i had my daughter at 3.11 in the morning and went home about 4.00pm the next day.

if you have a c-section then you have to stay in 5 days. if you have a natural delivery with no complications and you deliver in the morning then some hospitals let you out the same day or the next day.
