He did quite a series which involved the Castle Rock area - including Cujo and Needful Things, I seem to remember that IT also was from the area - and you grew to know the area and the characters that would come up, so you had a good idea of the character without further explanation. Can't recall the name later on in the series about all the birds - but brilliant, too!
The Stand was fantastic - and it was a bit of a shame that the film didn't finish in the same way as the book did!
Carrie - the book had me gripped - and the film (having seen it after reading the book) was as good - usually I am either disappointed with the book if I have seen the film first, or the film, having read the book first!
Christine! Oh, so very clever.
Haven't read one of his books for a while. I bought Cell a couple of years ago and still haven't managed to get past the first two chapters - that one really is weird!
My very favourite? Pet Semetary (or however it was spelt!). Scared the do-diddly-whatsits out of me! Oh, when Dad went to the cemetery to get Gage out and found him covered in mould! But again, shame that the film didn't finish the same way as the book!
He also wrote The Talisman along with Peter Strawb! Now that really was brilliant - I shall just have to go and find my copy so that I can read it again! A mixture of magic and dungeons and dragons - just wish that I could do it!

Misery
One of my fave books of all time.
Can anything be more freaky than being held hostage by your nurse, a nurse that would rather hurt than heal.
Annie Wilkes has become one of the most iconic villains since this book and later movie. Kathy Bates sure did deserve that Oscar for her perfect performance.

I was 11 when i was handed this book and it took me 6 months to read it and scared the crap out of me. i was very proud when i finished it, the film was an insult to celluloid and did no justice to the book
Loved Insomnia too, for i am a chronic insomniac

They all start out brilliantly then his plot just goes bonkers and rubbish. I love how he writes though, so he's worth reading just for his skill.
my favourite is the Stand, but as usual he missed some real opportunities with the plot and it decsended into papness.
