I'm writing a paper and have to include in it a girls rites of passage. I'm not sure how to write it though. The sentence is ' It illustrates the girls rites of passage/ rite of passage' - Which tense should it be in?!

Well, "illustrates" is in the present tense so why not write it in that tense?

Third---One is used as the reference for the subject. For example: One's assumption must be.... OR Our assumption must be... Either one is acceptable. It takes the place of "My" or "Your."
