I'm only human, and sometimes I just can't leave my problems at the door, so if I'm irritable and the kids are rebellious, then the feacal matter might just hit the fan. But when it does, and I can later walk back in that room and tell the kids how I overreacted due to personal problems, I find they respect me just a fraction more.
Honesty is always the best policy!
While I was going through my divorce, an adolescent Year 11 student said something quite unappropriate about my ex-wife, so I was just raising my hand to sock him in the chops when his form teacher came in with a note for me. He stopped me just in time. I stormed out of the room in a rage and quit on the spot!
[For two reasons: a) I felt that I'd be an aweful teacher if I couldn't control my own temper, and b) if I ever saw that kid again I'd chop him up into little pieces!]
With a little time (actually it was on the bus going home) I realised he was just trying to make me feel better by putting down my ex. But, it was just the wrong place at the wrong time kind of thing.
Two days later, and about 40 phone calls from different schools, parents and students, I awoke to the noise of chanting and beeping horns. From my second floor window I observed about 50 students of mine from different schools in the same zone, with the lad that I had confronted at the front of the mob, all singing: No se va, el profe no se va! No se va! El Profe no se va! (He won't leave, the teacher won't go!)
Crying, I got dressed and went down to say sorry to the confused kid who thought I had gotten fired because of him.
But I didn't go back to teaching for 5 years, at which time I was sure i could control my temper. So far so good!

See how the instructor interacts with the youngsters. in case you notice fallacious habit, communicate with the instructor, or communicate with the supervisor of the preschool application.
