ok dumb question, but does a man wear a wedding ring on the left or right hand?

I'm not sure that this is a health question, although your future bride might whomp you on the head for getting it wrong.

Men traditionally wear a wedding ring on the third finger left hand the same as women in many cultures, because it was once believed a vein in that finger "ran directly to the heart." Since all veins go to the heart eventually, you could just as easily wear it on your toe or in your nose.

Some traditions use a different finger altogether and there is no law requiring you even to wear a ring or even to use a ring at all. In many faiths, the words of the service mention "exchanging a token of your love/affection" which could be anything.

Some people lose a hand or fingers, and an alternate finger becomes necessary. A friend of mine's husband lost both hands in Vietnam and wears his ring on a chain around his neck. He also has one embedded in his cosmetic left prosthetic hand, but he doesn't always use that hand.

Depends. Usually, married men wear their wedding rings on their left hand, but when they want to play around with some hot chicks, they switch their rings to the right, so that they wouldn't look like they're already taken. I'm not married, but my older friends do that sometimes.
