The invention of the compact disc in 1982 was supposed to herald the end of the vinyl record.Well here we are 25 years later and vinyl is far from being exstinct. It is gaining momentum and many music lovers are abandoning digital in favour of analogue .I wonder why.

Listen to some old blues on vinyl and then on cd. A more exact experment you say? Put in Hendrix on Cd and then play it on vinyl.
In answer to your question when I want to listen to older music pink floyd, stones, hendrix, etc. I listen to it on vinyl there is a lot of ambeint noise that you dont really pay attention to that adds depth to the music. Cd's are digital audio they have been gone throught and modified. Sometimes it doesn't seem real. Then you have all the nysncs and britney spears that can't sing and they sell there face. I can't sing but with the right computer equipment I can sing circles around the best of them. Anyways I guess It all comes down to how much does the music mean to you I don't listen to say the beatles on vinyl because I will just listen to the cd, the music doesn't really talk to me the way some other bands do. well hope this helps cya

Nothing can beat the sound of vinyl!

It's mostly only used by DJ's, or so I've been led to believe. It makes a way better scratching sound and all over sound really. It does sound pretty good!
