I took Clomid for the first time this past month and I got pregnant. When I had a sono done at day 10 of my cycle it showed that I was about to release two eggs. Well since I have had five positive pregnancy test and zero neg I am assuming I am pregnant, I am only two days late. But I thought if only one egg was fertilized I would still get my period this month becuase the one egg which was not fertilized would have to be released. What do you think??? Would the other egg just disappear???

If one egg was fertilized, and the other was not fertilized, the non fertilized egg will be absorbed back into the body. You will not have a period even if only one egg is fertilized.

Every month the surface of the uterus prepares for pregnancy, the body lays down a nice lining ready to nurture a fertilized egg. If implantation and the associated change in hormones etc does not happen, the body releases the lining of the uterus, ready to prepare for next month, which is what we women experience as a period.

Hope this explains it. And congratulations on being pregnant!

no, you wouldn't have your period, you're pregnant!

the chances of multiples is high, assuming you released two eggs.

If there's only one baby, then the second wasn't fertilized. If it wasn't fertilized, that doesn't mean you'll have your period, you're still pregnant with the other.

probably just gets absorbed into the lining of the uterus. otherwise, you have multiples!
